EVERYTHING LISTED UNDER: Residents

Navigating the world of senior or retirement living can be overwhelming and frustrating because of the many options available. Determining which type of senior living community is right for you can be challenging. You have to take many factors into account – including your desires, level of independence or assistance needed, and your financial state.

Early last month, a newly formed group of residents gathered in the community dining room for the first official performance of Newton Presbyterian Manor’s Reader’s Theater Troupe.

The Garden Club, started by Chaplain Greg Schmidt, meets once a week to care for the community’s plants and flowers. Recently, several independent- and assisted-living residents visited Stutzman’s Greenhouse and Garden Center to stock up on flowers that were recently planted on the deck off of the main dining room by residents, including Ann Heidebrecht

And now, three months in, Melody says her transition to her new home has been made easier thanks to the people she has found herself surrounded by.

“When I retired, I was looking for different ministries,” said Gene. “Now, I get to do it in a non-traditional pulpit way.”
