Emily Trask

Executive Director
Emily joined Presbyterian Manor in October 2017 as human resource director, and assumed the role of executive director in December 2021. She previously worked for two years as manager of substitute programs for the Wichita school district. She also has experience working in health care as a certified nurse assistant (CNA) and in medical records and central supply as well as social services. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resource management from Fort Hays State University and is in the PHR (Professional Human Resources) prep course at Southwestern College. She is a certified social services designee.

Krista Scott

Assisted Living Director
Krista joined Presbyterian Manor with lots of experience in healthcare. She has a Kansas LPN license and an IV certification. She previously worked in hospitals in various nursing positions and has experience as a director of assisted living and memory care in other communities. Krista lhas four grown children. She likes fishing, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two pit bulls named Foxy and Saint.

Jennie Johnson, RN

Director of Nursing
Jennie has come back home to Newton Presbyterian Manor, a place where she previously worked in various positions. Most recently, Jennie was the Hospice Administrator for PMMA's Heart and Soul Hospice in Wichita. Jennie earned her licensed practical nurse and registered nurse degrees with help from PMMA's Employee Scholarship Fund. She did her licensed practical nurse training at Hutchinson Community College and earned her associate’s degree in nursing at Hesston College. She is a member of Hillcrest Community Church.

Sarah Schmitt

Life Enrichment Director
Sarah is well-known around Newton Presbyterian Manor, having worked at the community on and off since 2013 in various positions. Sarah has experience as a CNA and Restorative Aide in our healthcare and memory care neighborhoods and has been a life enrichment assistant and social services designee since early 2021. Besides being a CNA, she also has an AD/SSD certification from the state of Kansas.

Colton Kester

Environmental Services Director
Colton has been with Newton Presbyterian Manor since September 2022. He has experience as a property and environmental services director, most recently for the YMCA of Greater Omaha. He also has experience as a program and camp director for the Wichita YMCA. In his free time, Colton likes to go adventures with his wife, Stephanie, and their beagle, Mia. The couple also has a cat, Olympia.

Debra Bilyeu

Social Services Director
Debra joined Newton Presbyterian Manor in October 2022 with extensive experience in social services. She has spent years as a social worker, foster case social worker, and memory care care program coordinator for more than 18 years. She has a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University

Renee Hamm

Apple-A-Day Preschool Director
Renee has been with Newton Presbyterian Manor since September 1997. She previously served as preschool teacher before being named preschool director in May 2006. Prior to joining Presbyterian Manor, Renee taught school in the Halstead and Newton public school districts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary and early childhood education from Bethel College and is a licensed teacher by the state of Kansas for early childhood through grade nine. Renee is a member of Newton High School Athletic Booster Club and serves as treasurer of Sunset Elementary Parent/Teacher Organization in Newton. She also serves on Nurture (Education) Commission at First Mennonite Church in Newton.

Valerie Robbins

Business Office Director
Valerie joined Presbyterian Manor in December 2016 and was named accounting assistant in May 2018. She became the business office director in 2022. Prior to joining the team, she worked in retail. She’s working toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in accounting. She and her husband have three children, a dog and two cats.
